Introduction on what opportunities may this field offer in Armenia and beyond

 

Worldwide, the development of novel technologies, internet of things, and artificial intelligence have led to the transformation of professions and work styles. With ever-increasing digitalization across all industries, the World Economic Forum (2018) estimates that around 54% of employees are in need of some sort of upskilling, including people working in the healthcare sector. Moreover, healthcare professionals need to be more agile and flexible about current and upcoming changes in order to be able to cope with the growing age of the population and the resulting increase in the prevalence of chronic diseases. 1

 

Today, digital health is one of the fastest growing economic sectors in the world. This, in turn, creates a need for skilled professionals, therefore new job opportunities for software developers, medical data analysts, cybersecurity professionals, researchers, knowledge engineers, scientists, and medical practitioners. 1
